Under the Hood

The Ford Mustang® has a turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost® engine giving 315 hp with 350 lbs./ft of torque. It also features modular power cylinder engine architecture, proprietary to Ford. This defines the shape of the engine’s combustion chamber, as well as the orientation of the valves and injectors, and the piston dome. And while all of that sounds quite technical, it does serve to make these engines more efficient and reliable.

There’s a 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission with paddle shifters set behind the steering wheel. This directs power to the available limited-slip rear axle for very surefooted performance in changeable conditions. There are also selectable drive modes and launch controls on certain models.

Inside the new 2024 Ford Mustang®

The driver and front passenger will feel at one with their Mustang® when seated in the cloth-covered bucket seats. There is a single-zone climate control system, four-way adjustable front head restraints, and 50/50 bench-style folding rear seats.

The infotainment system features a 12.4-inch LCD digital cluster, and you can order a six-speaker sound system that is MP3-capable. Don’t forget to connect using FordPass™ with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and plug your devices in using smart charging USB ports.

To keep you safe on the road there are a number of smart driver support features such as the lane-keeping system, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and rear parking sensors.

Variations on the Theme

The latest Mustang® range starts with the EcoBoost® Fastback or convertible, as well as a Premium variant. You can also get the upgraded GT Fastback or Convertible, while at the top of the range are the Dark Horse™ and Dark Horse™ Premium. The Dark Horse™ models feature a six-speed manual transmission and other performance enhancements like an auxiliary engine oil cooler, upgraded cooling fans, and a lighter-weight radiator.

Don't forget – for those who want an emissions-free option, Ford also offers the new Ford Mustang MACH-E® in standard, GT, and Premium trim.
