Get to know your boundaries.
Keep in mind that the Ford F-150® is a beast compared to a sedan, so its handling may be something you need to get used to, depending on the previous vehicle you drove. This powerhouse of a truck delivers phenomenal horsepower and payload; however, it does come with some restrictions. Stay cognizant that you may need to brake sooner rather than later and accelerate slowly — the Ford F-150® isn’t a compact sedan that can stop on a dime or climb a hill in a flash. Monitor whether or not your pickup can fit under certain bridges, through narrow streets and in tight parking spaces.
Use your backup camera.
Standard on every 2023 Ford F-150®, the rearview camera with Dynamic Hitch Assist comes in clutch for those tricky parking situations where you’re towing a large load. Reversing into a parking spot with a full-size pickup can be daunting for new truck drivers, but not anymore with the easily accessible backup camera. We highly recommend you practice parking without anything hitched to your vehicle if you’re not used to the truck’s size and boundaries. Also make sure the camera lens in the back of your vehicle is clean and free of any debris that could potentially block your view.
Become familiar with the Ford SYNC® 4 system.
Ready to level up on wireless connectivity? Take command with the available Ford SYNC® 4 system. Remember, don’t tinker with this system when you’re on the move: Put the truck in park and refer to your owner’s manual to get acquainted with your vehicle’s high-tech infotainment system. This Ford-specific technology combines cloud-based connectivity along with conversational voice command recognition to minimize as many distractions as possible for the driver.
